The AC/DC Premium pinball table, released by Stern in 2012, is a rock-and-roll themed game featuring iconic imagery and music from the Australian band AC/DC. The cabinet features a bold red and black design with the band's logo prominently displayed.

The playfield is loaded with features and toys, including an animated cannon that fires pinballs into the playfield, a motorized rotating bell, and a TNT detonator that launches balls into play. The playfield also features a range of targets, ramps, and pop bumpers that players can use to score points and activate various modes.

The table's backglass features a vibrant color scheme with a dynamic animated display that changes based on the player's progress. The display includes animations of band members, lightning bolts, and other rock-and-roll imagery.

The AC/DC Premium table was developed by the team at Stern Pinball, including designers John Borg and Steve Ritchie, with art by John Youssi and Greg Freres. The table has also been adapted for virtual pinball platforms, with VPX versions developed by Tom Tower and Ninuzzu, and Future Pinball versions developed by SLAMT1LT and others.

The VPX version of the AC/DC Premium pinball table was created by a team of developers and artists who are part of the VPUniverse community. The table was designed to replicate the physical machine as closely as possible while also taking advantage of the digital medium to enhance the gameplay experience.

The team responsible for the creation of the VPX version of AC/DC Premium includes:

32assassin: script, gameplay, sound effects
Bord: playfield redraw, plastics redraw
HauntFreaks: backglass, lighting, physics
DJRobX: mechanical sounds, gameplay tweaks
Rothbauerw: cabinet art, animations, physics
Arngrim: testing, gameplay feedback

The VPX version features high-resolution graphics and animations that bring the table to life. The lighting and particle effects have been improved, and the table includes custom sound effects and music tracks that capture the essence of the AC/DC brand. The physics engine has also been fine-tuned to accurately simulate the movement and behavior of the ball.

The VPX version includes all of the same features and gameplay modes as the physical machine, including the six main modes (For Those About to Rock, Hells Bells, Highway to Hell, Back in Black, Rock N Roll Train, and Thunderstruck) as well as the Encore and Album modes.

In addition to the standard gameplay modes, the VPX version includes a number of customizable options that allow players to tweak the game to their liking. For example, players can adjust the ball speed, flipper strength, and tilt sensitivity.

The VPX version of AC/DC Premium is an impressive recreation of the physical machine, with attention paid to every detail of the original design. The talented team of developers and artists have created a digital version that captures the excitement and fun of playing the physical machine, while also taking advantage of the digital medium to enhance the experience in unique ways.

The Future Pinball version of AC/DC Premium was developed by a team of dedicated modders who created a faithful recreation of the original pinball machine. The team was led by SLAMT1LT and included many talented artists and developers. Here are some of the key contributors and their roles:

SLAMT1LT: Lead developer and creator of the table script
Unclewilly: 3D modeling, lighting, physics, and additional script work
Ninuzzu: Additional script work, gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes
Bord: Additional script work, gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes
Clark Kent: Additional script work, gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes
JPSalas: Sound and music implementation

The team worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail of the original AC/DC Premium table was faithfully recreated in Future Pinball. They used advanced 3D modeling techniques to create highly detailed models of the playfield, cabinet, and backbox. The lighting and physics were carefully tuned to provide a realistic pinball experience, and the sound and music were taken directly from the original table.

One of the standout features of the Future Pinball version is the high level of customization available. Players can adjust a wide range of settings, from the ball speed and table slope to the sound effects and music volume. There are also multiple camera views to choose from, allowing players to get up close to the action or take a wider view of the entire playfield.

The Future Pinball version of AC/DC Premium is a stunning recreation of the original table, with all the same features and gameplay mechanics. It is a testament to the passion and dedication of the modding community, and a great example of what can be achieved with modern pinball simulation software.

Overall, the AC/DC Premium pinball table is a high-energy and visually striking game that offers an exciting and challenging experience for players of all skill levels.

Gameplay:

Players start with three balls and earn points by hitting various targets and ramps on the playfield.
The objective of the game is to complete the game's various modes and earn a high score.
Modes:

Song Modes -
There are 12 Song Modes in the game, each based on a different AC/DC song. To start a Song Mode, hit the flashing targets in front of the jukebox.

Album Modes -
There are six Album Modes in the game, each based on a different AC/DC album. To start an Album Mode, shoot the corresponding ramp.

Multiball Modes -
There are three Multiball Modes in the game: "Hells Bells," "For Those About to Rock," and "War Machine." To start a Multiball Mode, shoot the corresponding ramp.

Encore Mode -
Once all of the Song Modes, Album Modes, and Multiball Modes have been completed, players can start Encore Mode by shooting the left orbit.

In addition to these modes, there are several other features and bonuses in the game:

1: AC/DC targets - Hitting all four AC/DC targets (located in the center of the playfield) lights a "Thunderstruck" mode for a limited time, during which players can earn bonus points by hitting the targets.

2: Hell's Bell - Hitting the Hell's Bell target (located near the bottom of the playfield) starts a random mode or awards a bonus.

3: Drop Targets - Hitting the drop targets (located in the upper left corner of the playfield) lights the "Lock" for Multiball Mode.

4: Highway to Hell - Lighting all the letters in "HELL" (by hitting various targets and ramps) starts the "Highway to Hell" mode, during which players can earn bonus points by hitting certain targets.

5: Back in Black - Lighting all the letters in "BLACK" (by hitting various targets and ramps) starts the "Back in Black" mode, during which players can earn bonus points by hitting certain targets.

6: AC/DC (Premium) also features a number of other bonuses, such as a "Super Skill Shot," which awards bonus points at the start of each ball, and a "Cannon" feature, which allows players to shoot a ball into a cannon on the playfield for a chance to earn extra points.

7: Hells Bells Multi-Ball: Shoot the left ramp to light the Hells Bells lane, then shoot the lane to start the mode. The player must shoot the bell targets to light the lock, then shoot the left ramp to lock balls for a three-ball multi-ball. During this mode, the player can earn jackpot shots by shooting the bell targets, and super jackpot shots by shooting the flashing ramp shots. The mode ends when all balls have been lost.

8: Highway to Hell Multi-Ball: Shoot the center ramp to light the Highway to Hell lane, then shoot the lane to start the mode. The player must shoot the ball into the jukebox to select a song, and then shoot the flashing ramp shots to start a two-ball multi-ball. During this mode, the player can earn jackpot shots by shooting the ramps, and super jackpot shots by shooting the flashing shots. The mode ends when all balls have been lost.

9: TNT Detonation: Shoot the TNT targets to light the TNT lane, then shoot the lane to start the mode. The player must then shoot the lit targets to build up the TNT value, and then shoot the center ramp to detonate the TNT for the awarded points.

10: Rock 'n' Roll Train: Shoot the right ramp to start the mode. The player must then shoot the flashing shots to score points and build up the jackpot value, which is collected by shooting the right ramp.

11: Let There Be Rock: Shoot the left orbit to start the mode. The player must then shoot the flashing shots to score points and build up the jackpot value, which is collected by shooting the left orbit.
